Question:
Who are AEROSTUDIES students?
Answer:
AEROSTUDIES doesn't have any students ourselves.
We create web-based training courses for other
companies. The students who use the online learning
therefore include aircraft maintenance engineers/mechanics,technicians,
inspectors, pilots, flight officers, flight attendants,
baggagehandlers, air traffic controllers, ....
You get the picture!
Question:
How can online training courses replace face-to-face instruction?
Answer:
We don't try eliminate the human component to learning, just make the humans (student and instructor) more productive. Web-based training can greatly reduce time an instructor spends doing mundane teaching related tasks, and allow them more time for one-to-one training or being on the job.
Most technical 'step-by-step' type training can be delivered primarily via computer with minimal need for human interaction. Web-based training is perfect for this - with easy to use format and ability to not only add in lots of powerful aids like photos, video, etc., but also to enable the content to be kept completely up to date.
Students can reduce the amount of time spent in classrooms by studying when and where they want. They then show up for class, as may be required, much more prepared. In many cases, this also reduces the number of days a student needs to travel.
In the aviation business, when staff need to be trained usually the most experienced and product employees are pulled off the hangar floor or flight deck and given the responsibility of training others. As far as productivity and profitability goes, this is insane! Web-based e-Learning enables those productive, experienced people to stay on the job a lot more, helping trainees with only the minimal necessary instruction and focusing primarily only on the areas they need help in.
Question:
What control is there over the course content?
Answer:
First, you have complete control. Trainers can log to the e-Learning system with a special password and edit the content any time they want. This is a huge advantage over traditional 'canned' video or CD-ROM training. Information in the aviation industry changes very quickly. Publishing training in a web-based format enables real-time editing, any time.
Also, AEROSTUDIES goes beyond just 'publishing' training material to web pages.
We work closely with regulatory bodies and the
aviation industry to ensure that all training
courses are improved for quality and control.
Whenever necessary, we use qualified aviation
technology experts who are accredited, licensed,
and experienced to oversee all work.
Question:
Do I need to already have a computer-based training course to start?
Answer:
No, but it may be quicker and easier if you already do. We can take any training materials, PowerPoint presentations, slides, text documents, and even beat-up old paper manuals; and turn these into robust, self-guiding online training courses (our only requirement is that the materials must be yours and you give us permission to reproduce them). We can even develop a curriculum for you if you require as we have expert curriculum development and multimedia creation expertise.
